Unseeded Mark Hainey won his first Consolation Final in the Boys 16 Champ Major Zone held in Mansfield, TX from January 7 - 8, 2012. On his way to the Consolation Final he defeated Daniel Sanders 6-0, 6-1, Jarek Sulak 6-0, 7-5 and 5th seeded Joshua Rao 6-1,6-4. In the Final he defeated 6th seeded Zane Nelson 4-6, 7-5, 10-4.
